As true empaths, Heyoka will often confuse other people’s emotions, including planetary vibrations, as their own. Equipped with this gift, the Heyoka can give needed energies to people, animals, and the planet. Not only can Heyoka sense a person’s energy (good or bad), but they can also sense shifts in Mother Earth’s energies. Heyoka’s empathic abilities make them barometers for Mother Earth. It is this single trait alone that allows the Heyoka to facilitate dramatic healing in spite of the circumstances confronting individuals. Heyoka transcends from a life of suffering, and s/he emerges from "the void" (the vast darkness of Native American belief) with a spiritual clarity and knowledge that is then harnessed for the betterment of the people surrounding them (the tribe), and also Mother Earth. Native American belief defines Heyoka as NOT a lifestyle choice, but instead it is a spiritually ordained calling, and one that the individual is destined to live. "Heyoka Shamanism" and "Walking the Sacred Path". Heyoka are often reputed to have been touched by “Wakinyan” (Thunder Beings), and or been struck by lightning – a quickening of the soul. Heyoka is an individual blessed by “Wakan Tanka” (God, Great Spirit, The Creator or Grandfather). Sometimes Heyoka is termed the “Sacred Clown or Trickster”, and they are often depicted as doing things in opposition to that of today’s society (A true Contrarian). The Heyoka has the natural ability to help heal physical afflictions, emotional issues, and or simply bad moods in often using humor. The term Heyoka is a Native American word that originates from Lakota people (Sioux Tribe). A Heyoka is a very powerful empath that feels the emotions and energy of others inside their body.
